SPCA Flood Updates

On the evening of 10 January, Thames Water experienced a burst pipe on Plender Street, which unfortunately resulted in flooding on the ground floor of our building.

SPCA caretakers carried out a clean up on Sunday, and the insurance company representing Thames Water visited the premises for an initial assessment on Monday. They advised that all activities on the ground floor be suspended for at least this week while they:

• Conduct a thorough assessment of damage to the affected areas.

• Sanitise the affected areas - staff office, nursery, main hall, kitchen, and café.

• Dry out the space using humidifiers.

Therefore, all classes, programmes, activities, and bookings that take place on the ground floor of the building are suspended from 12 January through 16 January. Bookings that take place upstairs can continue as usual.

We are working in tandem with Camden Council to develop a plan of action to minimise the disruption to our regular services and activities, and will provide updates as our plans become clear.
