2025 Winter Fayre

To celebrate the holiday season, SPCA teamed up with the Camden Town Methodist Church and Camden Multicultural Community to put on a festive Winter Fayre!

On 29 November, by 12:00, the centre was bustling with music, families with children playing, and an aroma in the air of lovely canapes, donated by the Wesley Hotel, and curries from the Camden Multicultural Community. Guests weaved through the main hall, stopping at stalls selling beautiful pastries and children’s toys, chatting with the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team, and testing their luck in tombola and the annual raffle. Special thank you to Amanda B. and SPCA trustee Tallie for their help collecting prizes.

Across the way, families found our nursery serving as a crafts studio, with materials out for children and parents to channel their creative energy into Christmas cards. Thank you to Yvonne for overseeing this table! In the corner, our fabulous volunteers read stories to children – thanks to Danny for bring these stories to life. Meanwhile, Jay was bringing holiday cheer through her beautiful face painting – thank you Jay! Our nursery also housed the drinks station, where hot chocolate, mulled wine, and prosecco kept our spirits raised.

Amongst the guests, Mayor of Camden Eddie Hanson made an appearance, connecting with community members and getting some well-deserved relaxation time in our quiet space up in the snug. He kicked off the party in earnest with a speech to attendees in the main hall, followed by a mini photoshoot.

More photoshoots were had upstairs in Santa’s Grotto, hosted in our music studio. The space was transformed by our Children’s Services Manager Sarah, creating a cosy and merry oasis where you could (nearly) hear the crackling of a log burning fire. We captured children’s moments with Santa in this lovely space through polaroid pictures.

Halfway through the day, led by Sasha, the Golden Years choir began performing in the main hall, singing along to some of their favourite tunes from our weekly singing group. The joy of singing spread among the crowd, as more song requests rolled in and more guests joined the performances. Thank you to all our wonderful performers!

Finally, as the day wound down to a close, we gathered everybody to choose our raffle winners! Prizes included toys donated by the Safer Neighbourhoods Team, film tickets provided by Odeon, a bag and coffee beans from Cleaners and Coffee, a free lunch at O Tino, a £50 bar tab to Prince Albert pub, ice cream from Udderlicious, and a free night’s stay at the Wesley Hotel. We want to sincerely thank all the local businesses who contributed to our raffle and helped us support our Community Kitchen programme.

With our winners found and prizes distributed, it was finally time to call it a wrap. Deacon Sally of the Methodist Church played us out on the keyboard, as we all sang one last carol. As the guests filtered out and the volunteers began clearing up, that final wish for a happy new year rang through the centre.

Thank you again to the Camden Town Methodist Church and Camden Multicultural Community, as well as all of our volunteers. This event would not have been possible without your generous donations of time and support.

We’d also like to thank the Camden Council Cohesion Fund, which provided essential support for the success of the fayre.

See you in 2026 for the Summer Fayre!
